Whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again (John 4:14)

  • My responsibilities include writing this newsletter, announcements, planning family fun events like having the magician come to our church last month. What a great show it was! I preview and prepare curriculum, and oversee the youth ministries from infants through the 12th grade, co-direct Summer Zone and Trunk or Treat, staff and work to train teachers and leaders. The list of what I do could keep going, but I will stop there. Out of all of the things I do in the youth ministry. The thing I love doing the most is teaching and building friendships with the youth and other adults. The greatest commandments according to Jesus are to, “Love the Lord your God with all you heart and with all your soul. Love him with all your mind and with all your strength. And here is the second one. ‘Love your neighbor as you love yourself.’ There is no commandment more important than these.” I love to sit, listen, and talk with people. Building relationships with God and others is what ministry was all about to Jesus, and what it is all about to me. I love to see young people learn and grow deeper in their relationship with the Lord, and with others as well. It is fun giving them opportunities and empowering them to discover their spiritual gifts to serve the body of Christ. The greatest way to minister to youth, and to others is to simply spend time with them, and show them that you care. In Proverbs 17:17 it says, “A friend loves at all times. He is there to help when trouble comes.” I want to be this kind of friend to those around me.

Ministering to others in Jesus name,

    Youth Man Matt
